Virginia Nduta

Executive Director

Virginia is the Executive director of Women’s Empowerment link. She is a program specialist with over 12 years of experience in multi sectoral programs with specialization in gender, governance, public policy and advocacy. She holds a masters of Arts Master’s in Education, Gender and International Development from the University of London and a Bachelors in Community Development from Kenyatta University. Virginia has specialized expertise in the design and quality assurance of gender equality and women empowerment programs; she has a track record working with communities/ grassroots women networks to promote their healthy participation for improved governance.

Virginia has experience in mainstreaming of crosscutting themes. She is engaged in continuous advocacy for gender equity with key partners including government, donors, civil society, as well as UN agencies. At women’s empowerment Link she has led local activism to push for gender responsive policies. Virginia has extensive experience in management of diverse groups of people and grant management. She prides herself with demonstrable experience in citizen mobilization and Inclusion, Stakeholder mapping, Mobilization for Legislation and Policy development.

Currently virginia sits at the helm of leadership at Women’s Empowerment Link (WEL) a women rights organization whose mission is to advance women and girls social, economic and civic rights. WEL focuses on 3 key thematic areas which are; Transformative Leadership, which focuses on increasing the participation of women and girls in local decision-making structures. Ending Violence Against Women & Girls (VAWG), a focus area that aims to facilitate development, promotion and enforcement of appropriate mechanisms for prevention, protection and response to violence against women and girls. Women’s Economic Empowerment which seeks to promote equitable benefit for women both public and private sector policies/programs
