Jane Githiri

Programme Coordinator

Jane is a devoted Christian, an experienced gender expert and licensed psychologist with over six years of expertise in policy advocacy, strategic planning, program design, coordination, management, and MEAL (monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning), and is passionate about mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS). She excels as a trainer, resource mobilizer, team player and leader, committed to social justice, community empowerment, and the eradication of violence through evidence-based approaches.

Jane earned her Bachelor of Psychology from Egerton University and is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Psychology at the University of Nairobi.

In her role at WEL, Jane works as the Program Coordinator for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls (EVAWG) program, which also incorporates the Economic Empowerment for Sustainable Livelihoods program. Her work involves movement building, policy advocacy, educational campaigns, and enhancing structures for both preventing and responding to violence against women (VAW). She strengthens referral networks and promotes community-led activism, collaborating closely with both duty bearers and rights holders at various levels to ensure cohesive efforts towards promoting human rights and fostering a violence-free world.
