Strengthening the SDGs Kenya Forum as an Accountability Platform for SDG5 – Gender Equality

This project, implemented in Kitui County, focuses on advancing gender equality and women’s economic empowerment (WEE). The initiative partners with the county government, CSOs, grassroots women, women-led businesses, and gender champions to address policy gaps, enhance data utilization, and strengthen institutional capacities. It advocates for eliminating gender-based violence (GBV) through the implementation of Generation Equality Forum (GEF) commitments, alongside enhancing funding and mainstreaming of WEE policies into planning frameworks. By empowering grassroots movements, employing strategic advocacy, and building multi-sectoral partnerships, the project fosters an environment which enables women and girls to realize their rights, access opportunities, and contribute to sustainable development.
